Basement gym
Basements often win on footprint and lose on ceiling height. Measure the lowest duct or beam before you shop tall uprights.
Basement-specific notes
- Ceiling: compare listed stand/rack height to the lowest obstacle, not the average height.
- Humidity and finished floors: mats first; iron vs bumper still depends on whether you drop the bar.
- Stairs: plan how plates and uprights come down before you order.
- Bolting: only if the slab and ownership allow it — otherwise flat-foot.
