About

Updated September 12, 2026

Rack and Plate is run by Joel Anderson. It is a buying-order guide for a garage or spare-room gym — not a store, and not a fake-ratings review mill.

Joel’s home setup is ownership-forward, not hypothetical: Bowflex and FitRx adjustable dumbbells, floor mats, a mountable pull-up bar, a power stand, and Bowflex + Body-Solid benches. That path taught the main lesson this site repeats — stand before rack. The early buys are gear he actually trains with. Later Titan and REP names are examples people already compare from manufacturer pages and listings, not a claim that every SKU sits in Joel’s garage or got a lab score.

Trust here means a clear buy order, named examples you can confirm on the current listing (or manufacturer site when Amazon stock is unreliable), and no invented star ratings. If a FitRx SmartBell tray is in the recalled serial ranges, follow the CPSC notice linked on the dumbbells page.

The later shortlist assumes a typical one-car garage or spare room with a standard ceiling, where you may not be able to bolt into the floor. It is not written for a commercial gym.
